RMK Collector needed a brand-new website for a serious Randall Made® knife collection and the work of the official Randall historian and authenticator. The platform had to serve collectors seeking accurate, research-supported information about the makers, history, and blades.

The website also needed room for original articles, archived publications, knife reviews, historical catalogs, photography, selected items for sale, and discreet inquiries from owners interested in selling collections.

MWD Web Design created a custom WordPress website from the ground up, turning a specialist body of knowledge into an organized, expandable resource for new and experienced Randall knife collectors.

Transformation

The project began as a blank canvas with a substantial content challenge: organize decades of research, published material, provenance, imagery, and collector knowledge without losing the character of the subject.

The finished website creates clear pathways into feature articles, knives of collector interest, historical resources, reviews, photos, sales listings, and collection-acquisition contact information.

Objective

The primary goal was to build an authoritative WordPress resource that preserves Randall knife history and helps collectors make more informed acquisition and research decisions.

Key objectives included:

  • Create a brand-new custom design tailored to Randall knife collecting

  • Build a manageable WordPress CMS for continuing publication

  • Organize articles, newsletters, catalogs, reviews, and photography

  • Support selected knife listings and collector inquiries

  • Deliver a responsive reading and browsing experience

  • Provide discreet contact pathways for owners selling collections

The website needed to welcome collectors at every experience level while giving serious researchers efficient access to detailed historical material and provenance.

Approach

This project combined custom visual design, deep archival organization, editorial publishing, image-rich collector content, and discreet inquiry pathways.

Custom Design & WordPress Build

We designed and developed the website from the ground up with a refined collector-focused visual system and flexible WordPress templates for long-form research.

Collector Knowledge Architecture

The site separates feature essays, knives of collector interest, historical newsletters, catalogs, magazine and newspaper material, knife reviews, and photo references into browsable resources.

Research & Provenance Presentation

Long-form articles and image-rich reviews provide space for careful historical interpretation, supporting research, provenance, and detailed examples of rare or unique knives.

Sales & Acquisition Pathways

Selected pieces can be presented for sale, while prominent contact information supports private inquiries from owners with individual knives or complete collections.

Responsive Design

The responsive layout keeps articles, archives, reviews, photos, listings, and contact details readable and accessible across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

Impact

The new website gives RMK Collector an authoritative digital home for preserving knowledge and serving the Randall knife collecting community.

A Lasting Digital Archive

Historical articles, newsletters, catalogs, reviews, and reference images now have an organized home that can continue to grow.

Better Collector Research

Clear navigation helps collectors move between published research, chronological resources, provenance, and visual references.

Trusted Specialist Positioning

The design foregrounds the official historian and authenticator role, creating context for the depth and care behind the content.

Long Term Scalability

The WordPress foundation supports new quarterly articles, additional archives, newly documented knives, photography, and future sales listings.

Results

RMK Collector now has a custom digital platform that preserves Randall knife history and supports research, collecting, sales, and acquisition inquiries.

The redesigned website:

  • Establishes an authoritative online presence for the collection

  • Organizes extensive historical and collector resources

  • Supports detailed research through articles, reviews, and photography

  • Makes specialist content accessible across devices
